Ottawa's Festival of Ideas Since 1997

I look up and find bright colours of orange, red, yellow and green.
I’m not talking about the sky, I'm talking about the trees that surround me.
Each day the colours get brighter and brighter until winter comes along and ruins the party.

The leaves are falling in surrender as the cold approaches.
Fall is prettier than cupcakes with pink icing and is more colourful than Easter eggs.

Fall is chilly enough to wear a warm sweater but the winter is enough to freeze water in an instant.
As I walk forward and call out into the open air I can see my breath forming in the crisp morning.

Under my feet the leaves go crunch.
The sound so satisfying and those reasons are why I like fall so much.
