I Am Amelia Earhart

I am Amelia Earhart
I wonder what it feels like to be a pilot I hear the propellers
I see oceans and forests and towns
I want women to follow their dreams

I am Amelia Earhart

I pretend that I’m not scared of the plane running out of gas

I feel the wind against my face
I touch the controls
I worry that a plane might run out of gas

I cry, “Adventure is worthwhile in itself.”

I am Amelia Earhart

I understand why it’s so hard to cross the Pacific Ocean
I say, “Women must try to do things like men have tried.”
I dream of being a pilot
I try to get enough money so I can take flying lessons and be a pilot

I hope all women can follow their dreams
I am Amelia Earhart
