Join our host, Jennifer Whiteford, for an evening of thrills, misdirection and MacGuffins, as we welcome four great authors and celebrate three exciting novels.

Double Vision , the new thriller from Ottawa’s Peggy Blair picks up just weeks after the events in Shadow Play. Detective Jamie Wallace and Detective Michel Tremblay investigate an apparent suicide that may be the work of a sophisticated killer who’s hidden their tracks, and Damien Echo, a street-smart psychic scammer, has the one piece of evidence at the heart of the mystery.

In Bury the Lead: A Quill & Packet Mystery by Kate Hilton and Elizabeth Renzetti, Cat Conway, a big-city journalist joins the staff of a small-town paper in cottage country and finds a community full of secrets … and murder. One of Cat’s first assignments is to interview legendary actor Eliot Fraser, the lead in the theatre’s season opener of Inherit the Wind. When Eliot ends up dead onstage on opening night, the curtain rises on the sleepy town’s secrets. Can Cat solve the mystery before she loses her job or becomes the next victim of a killer with a theatrical bent for vengeance?

A new mess. A new mystery. Molly the maid return in The Mystery Guest by Nita Prose. Molly Gray is not like anyone else. With her flair for cleaning and proper etiquette, she has risen through the ranks of the glorious five-star Regency Grand Hotel to become the esteemed Head Maid. But just as her life reaches a pinnacle state of perfection, her world is turned upside down when J.D. Grimthorpe, the world-renowned mystery author, drops dead—very dead—on the hotel’s tea room floor. When Detective Stark, Molly's old foe, investigates the author’s unexpected demise, it becomes clear that this death was murder most foul.
