Whit Fraser

Join us for a conversation between Giller Prize Winner Elizabeth Hay and Whit Fraser, former chairman of the Canadian Polar Commission, storyteller for Students on Ice, and the former executive director of Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami.

Whit’s acclaimed memoir, True North Rising, focuses on the remarkable events and the extraordinary people who spoke up across Canada’s Northern Territories to challenge the colonial attitudes and policies of the past, bringing lasting change and the prospect of greater justice and equality to come.

Books available for purchase at every event: Proceeds support our free children’s literacy programs.
