Join us for an evening hosted by Algonquin Anishinaabe author Karen McBride, featuring remarkable novels that speak to a deep need to confront painful history and to reach for a better future, no matter how difficult the journey has been.

Award-winning writer and activist, Camille Fouillard, makes her fiction debut with Precious Little, set in the remote Labrador Innu community of Utshimassits, exploring grief, trauma, unlearning, and healing. Inspired by true events, and the Gathering Voices report, of which Fouillard served as editor, it is a journey toward unlearning and unknowing.

We welcome David A Robertson, winner of the Writers’ Union of Canada Freedom to Read Award and the Governor General’s Literary Award with his latest, The Theory of Crows , a novel about the bonds of family and the gifts offered by the land. When a troubled father and his estranged teenage daughter head out in search of the family trapline, they find their way back to themselves, and to each other.
