We are thrilled to be partnering with Nobel Women’s Initiative to launch When We Are Bold: Women Who Turn Our Upsidedown World
Right,
a collection of 28 short essays by notable women writers and thinkers from around the world. Each essay is an intimate portrait of a woman peacemaker or feminist who has influenced and inspired the author’s own work and life. The launch will use these essays as a starting point for a conversation on the big and small ways women build peace in their communities, how feminism shapes so many women’s thinking about peace and how supporting women is the key to solving the world’s current outstanding conflicts.
Join authors Aja Monet, Casey Camp-Horinek and Madeleine Thien to celebrate this work and participate in an evening of fascinating conversation with Nobel Peace Prize laureates Jody Williams (USA), and Tawakkol Karman (Yemen).
The Nobel Women’s Initiative uses the prestige of the Nobel Peace Prize and courageous women Peace laureates to increase the power and visibility of women
’s groups working globally for peace, justice and equality.
Books available for purchase at every event: Proceeds support our free children’s literacy programs.
Special thanks to the Embassy of the United States for supporting this event.
