By bringing a critical lens to bear on citation, Making Things Matter will explore how activist orientations to the practice of citation have the capacity to disrupt the self-evidence of received ideologies and thus work to perpetuate different narratives of mattering, while simultaneously drawing attention to how mattering happens at all. This experimental and participatory workshop will encourage approaches to citation from a critical perspective, creating the conditions for other kinds of ontologies to emerge: decolonial, anti-racist, anti-patriarchal, considerate of wisdoms made outside of academic settings. Presented in partnership with Ottawa Art Gallery.

Workshop runs from 10 AM to 4PM
