George Bowering

George Bowering is a distinguished novelist, poet, editor, professor, historian and tireless supporter of fellow writers. Canada’s first Parliamentary Poet Laureate, an Officer of the Order of Canada and winner of the Governor General’s Award for both poetry and fiction, he has authored more than one hundred books and chapbooks, including works of poetry, fiction, memoirs, and fiction for young readers.

A tireless force of nature, George has four books out this year alone:  The World, I Guess, a poetry collection; Attack of the Toga Gang, a middle school novel; Writing the Okanagan, collected writings about the Okanagan, with archival photos: and Ten Women, a book of short stories.

Join us for a conversation on the craft, the need to experiment and finding inspiration.
