Get on the beer with a three-stop literary pub crawl on Elgin Street!

Our evening begins at the Lieutenant’s Pump, followed by The Cross on Elgin and Woody’s Pub. At each of our three stops, we’ll hear from an acclaimed Newfoundland writer and be invited to raise a glass to their latest work.

Please note: This is a walking tour and the participating pubs are not wheelchair accessible. Drinks not included in ticket price.

The Authors

Edward Riche

Edward Riche was a co-creator of and writer for the legendary CBC Radio Comedy “The Great Eastern”. His work in radio features and documentary have received numerous awards. His feature film screenplays include the adaptation of his celebrated novel “Rare Birds”. For television he is best known for his work on “Made In Canada” (“The Industry”, USA) . His novel “The Nine Planets” won both the Winterset and Thomas Raddell awards for fiction. His novel, “Easy To Like” was long listed for the IMPAC Prize. His latest novel, “Today I Learned It Was You” was published in 2016. . His plays include “Possible Maps”, “List of Lights” “To Be Loved”, “The Pillow Trade”, “Hail” and “Dedication”.

Eva Crocker

Eva Crocker’s stories have been published in Riddle Fence, The Overcast, and The Telegram’s Cuffer Anthology. Barrelling Forward was shortlisted for the 2015 NLCU Fresh Fish Award for Emerging Writers. Crocker recently completed a Master’s Degree in English Literature at Memorial University.

Lisa Moore

Lisa Mooreis the author of the bestselling novels Alligator, February, and Caught; the story collections Open and Something for Everyone; and a young adult novel, Flannery. Her books have been finalists for the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize, CBC Canada Reads, the Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize, the Scotiabank Giller Prize, and the Man Booker Prize, among many other honours and accolades. Lisa lives in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
