How best to pay tribute to Canadian comedy's foremost foursome? Nothing less will do than a 21-hen salute from the chicken cannon.

from Canada's Walk of Fame Inductee Profile

Join us for a rollicking, behind-the-scenes look at Canada’s favourite comedy troupe. Don Ferguson, one of the founding members (and the only person in the world who could channel both Preston Manning and Jack Layton), shares stories from their beginnings in 1970 as an onstage comedy troupe, their historic run-on radio, and their spectacular success on prime-time television. Don’t miss this no-holds-barred look at the key players that turned comedy talent into prime-time gold.

The Authors

Barbara Budd

Her voice is one of the most recognizable in Canada. And after 17 years as co-host of CBC Radio’s As It Happens, Barbara Budd is recognized around the world too. By cabbies in Washington, St. Paul Minnesota, Toronto and MooseJaw. By long-haul truck drivers from Tallahassee to Seattle. By shop keepers in remote villages on The Cabot Trail in Cape Breton, and by folks listening to their radios and Ipods in Finland, India and Kuala Lumpur. Her professional accomplishments and credits include five seasons in leading roles at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival and performances in French and English with the major symphony orchestras of Canada. Her voice is less recognizable in the countless character voices she has created for numerous animation series.

Don Ferguson

Don Ferguson graduated from Montreal's Loyola College with an Honours English degree, then worked in radio and as an audio-visual producer and photographer until he discovered that comedy writing and performing was more fun. Don has written and directed documentary programs for CBC television, a science-fiction series for radio, a political farce for the stage, (Skin Deep), and a stage drama about the ill-fated World War II raid on the French port of Dieppe. Don is a popular after-dinner entertainer and a keen sailor. Air Farce: 40 Years of Flying by the Seat of Our Pants is his first book.
