Cornelia Rémi is a scholar of literature and loves adventures – random encounters that catapult her into new worlds and challenge her to explore words, ideas and stories. After previous appointments at LMU Munich and the University of Tübingen she currently serves as acting chair of German literature at the University of Würzburg. Her research focuses on early modern as well as 19th-century and contemporary texts, with book-length studies dedicated to religious poetry and to secrets in 19th-century fiction. In her spare time she promotes the joy of writing and reading by volunteering at LMU’s Writing Centre and for the Lübeck Book Pirates. Children’s books are a particular passion of hers. When she noticed her young nephews falling in love with wordless picturebooks teeming with characters, but couldn’t find any research on them, she jumped at the chance of studying these wimmelbooks herself. She is also responsible for compiling the most comprehensive online bibliography of Harry Potter research.
