Vidar Sundstøl is a Norwegian author. He grew up in Drangedal in the county of Telemark. He attended the Writer’s College in Bø in 1987. Vidar’s first book, Kommandolinjer, was published in 2005. In 2008 the first book in the Minnesota-trilogy, Drømmenes land (The Land of Dreams) was released and was later awarded the Riverton Prize for Best Norwegian Crime Fiction. The series has since been sold to a number of other countries including Denmark, Germany, Iceland, France, the Netherlands, and the US, to great acclaim. A film option has also been sold. Sundstøl's latest book Besettelsen (The Obsession) was published in Norway last fall, also to very good reviews. This is an adventure thriller about a quest for Alexander the Great's tomb.
