Patricia Filteau grew up in the boreal forest of northern Canada. She went on to live, work, and explore in Africa, Asia, Europe, and North and South America. Her lifelong passion for open-water swimming connects her to the wilderness she knows and loves. Her novels are inspired by a career that took her from archaeology to small business to trade commissioner and diplomat. She lives and writes in Ottawa, Canada, and swims in Gatineau, Quebec. Patricia has two adult children.
