Manon Cornellier graduated from UQAM with a degree in communications and has been covering federal politics since 1985, first as a freelance journalist for La Presse , TVA, TFO and Québec Science and then, in 1990, as a member of the Canadian Press’s parliamentary unit. In 1995, she authored a book on the birth of the Bloc Québécois, published by James Lorimer & Company Ltd, and one year later, she joined the staff of Le Devoir newspaper. In 2007, her work at Le Devoir won her the Judith-Jasmin Journalism Award, Op-ed Category, and two years later, she earned a master’s degree in political science from the University of Ottawa. In addition to her work as a political columnist for Le Devoir, Manon Cornellier currently writes a political blog for L’actualité , a prominent Quebec magazine, and is a regular contributor to several other electronic media.
