A graduate of the University of Victoria and Concordia University in Montreal, Jessup is currently a doctoral candidate in English Literature at the University of Toronto and Creative Writing Instructor at Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS. During her studies Jessup has taught Introductory English Literature at Saint Mary's University and Dalhousie University in Halifax, English Composition at Concordia, as well as fiction workshops at the Writers' Federation of Nova Scotia. She was co-editor and publisher at Delirium Press chapbooks in Montreal from 2004 – 2008. Heather's fiction, poetry and reviews have appeared in various publications such as PRISM International, The Malahat Review, Prairie Fire, Grain, Denver Quarterly, Fiddlehead and Matrix Magazine. Her first novel, The Lightning Field was published by Gaspereau Press in September 2011.
