Cassie Campbell-Pascall

Cassie Campbell-Pascall has been a pillar of Canadian hockey for nearly 30 years, first as a player and then as a broadcaster and builder. She led the national women's team to Olympic gold medal victories in 2002 and 2006, en route to becoming the longest-serving captain in team history. Campbell-Pascall was also the first woman to work as a colour analyst during a broadcast of Hockey Night in Canada, and would later become the first female hockey player inducted into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame. In 2012, she was one of only four players named to the inaugural induction class for the Order of Hockey In Canada, honoured alongside Wayne Gretzky, Jean Beliveau and Gordie Howe. (She was invested as a Member of the Order of Canada a few years later.) In 2018, she became the first woman named to the Hockey Hall of Fame selection committee. Campbell-Pascall remains an active hockey broadcaster, as well as an active minor hockey coach in Calgary and advocate for the growth of the women's game.
