Amanda West Lewis

Amanda West Lewis is the author of eleven award-winning books spanning a diverse range of genres including historical fictions, craft books, picture books, non-fiction poetry, YA, a middle grade novel in verse, and a graphic novel. She has an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts with a specialization in picture books.

Amanda is also a theatre creator, and has spent thirty years directing, writing, developing theatre programs, teaching, and working as Artistic Director of several theatre schools for young people. She is a professional calligrapher and book artist, specializing in the historical development of written forms.

Throughout all of her work lies a passion for language, movement, sound, and the thrill of asking questions.

When not writing, teaching, or making art, Amanda can usually be found in her gardens in the woods of Eastern Ontario, where she lives with her husband, author Tim Wynne-Jones. www.amandawestlewis.com
