BRAVO! Television featured pianist Derek Yaple-Schobert in January 2005 on the season's first episode of The Classical Now highlighting "the best of Canada's next generation of classical musicians". The Canada Council for the Arts recently awarded him a Grant to Professional Musicians and a Career Management Grant, and ONTARIO CONTACT chose him to showcase at their annual event in October 2004. His past season included solo recitals in Québec and Ontario for the Lakeshore Chamber Music Society, Opus 130 Series, the German Benevolent Society (recorded by Éspace musique to be broadcast across Canada this Fall), the Canadian-Scandinavian Foundation and the Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Music Society.
