Antti Tuuri was born in 1944 in Kauhava - a city in Ostrobothnia, Finland. He worked in various management positions in the graphics industry for a number of years before becoming a full-time writer in 1983. In addition to his highly acclaimed pieces of prose, he has written stage plays, movie and TV scripts, and radio plays. Antti draws upon his familiarity with the United States and Canada in a series of novels titled Pohjanmaa (Ostrobothnia). A French version titled Un Jour en Ostrobotnie was published in 1990. The English version, A Day in Ostrobothnia, is being launched at the festival.
