Danielle Schaub was born in the Sultanate of Brunei and raised all over the world. She studied at the Free University of Brussels in Belgium and at the University of Cambridge in England. She went on to earn an MA in English and Dutch philology and literature, an MA in Spanish, and a PhD in Canadian literature. Danielle has always been fascinated by the interaction between text and image. She started photographing family members and travel destinations when she was nineteen years of age. While on research trips in Canada, she has taken photographs of numerous writers at writers' festivals, which has led to various exhibitions of her work around the world. A writer of short fiction and poetry, Danielle currently teaches at the Academic College of Education near Haifa, Israel. Her area of concentration is Canadian literature.
