Stuart Ross's poetry collection Farmer Gloomy's New Hybrid was a finalist for the 2000 Trillium Book Award. A poet, fiction writer, editor, creative writing teacher, and publisher, he co-founded the Toronto Small Press Book Fair, sold 7,000 of his books on the streets of Toronto in the '80s, has published and toured extensively, and recently launched his website,, and Peter O'Toole, a magazine of one-line poems. He teaches poetry at Centauri Arts. His new collection, Hey, Crumbling Balcony! Poems New & Selected, spans nearly 25 years in the career of one of Canada's most original poetic voices. Stuart placed second in CBC's 2003 National Poetry Face-off. His latest collection is Buying Cigarettes for the Dog.
