Maurice Mierau is a Winnipeg writer, editor, and teacher. His second book of poems, Fear Not, came out with Turnstone Press in fall 2008.
Maurice’s first book of poems was Ending with Music (Brick, 2002). It was described
by the University of Toronto Quarterly as “a marvelously energetic performance.” Memoir of a
Living Disease, Maurice’s non-fiction book, won a Margaret McWilliams Award from the
Manitoba Historical Society in 2006. Maurice is associate editor of a new Winnipeg-based fiction imprint, Enfield & Wizenty. In addition he works as a poetry editor for Contemporary Verse 2 and for Geez magazine. He is past president of the League of Canadian Poets.
