Poet and writer, JosÉ MÁrmol was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, in 1960. His work has received great attention and has won prestigious awards at a national and international level. José is founder of Colección Egro de Poesía Dominicana y Contemporánea, - an editorial committee, which has published various authors. He has published numerous poetry collections books, including El ojo del arúspice, La invención del día, which won the National Poetry Award, Lengua del Paraíso and Deus ex machina. His writing has been translated in English, French, and Italian. José produces and conducts the cultural TV program Conversación en La Catedra, and contributes to the daily Dominican newspaper El Caribe.
