Naomi Klein was born in Montreal in 1970. Her writing, nominated for four National Magazine Awards, has appeared in numerous publications in Canada and the U.S., including The Globe and Mail, The New York Times and The Village Voice. For nearly five years she was a columnist for The Toronto Star. A popular speaker and commentator, Naomi delivered the prestigious 1999 Innis Memorial Lecture. She has spent the past four years traveling through Canada, Asia, the United States and the United Kingdom, tracking the rise of anti-corporate activism. She lives in Toronto with her husband, broadcaster Avi Lewis.
