Erling Friis-Baastad was born in Norway in 1950. He has spent most of his adult life in the Yukon Territory, where he now serves as an editor for The Yukon News and as a regional editor for the Alaska magazine Ice-Floe. The Exile House, his first collection, was published in 2001. His latest is Wood Spoken: New and Selected Poems.
