In 2007, Terry Fallis published his first novel, The Best Laid Plans, a satirical novel of Canadian politics. He also podcast the novel, chapter by chapter, building a large and still growing audience. In April 2008 his novel won the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour as the funniest book published in Canada in 2008. McClelland & Stewart published The Best Laid Plans in September 2008.
