John Brady has written eight Matt Minogue novels - both Wonderland and Islandbridge were named to the Globe and Mail Top 100 list. His new novel Poacher's Road introduces an Austrian detective named Felix Kimmel. He is currently shortlisted for the 2006 Hammett Award. Though trained as a teacher, John tries to live by Yeats' dictum: "Only that which is useless, or can't be taught, is irresistible." A native of Dublin, John divides his time between Ireland and Canada, where he and his wife Hanna raise their family.
